With Team & Individual Colchester competitions (CDTL & Friendly) drawing to a close, its time for the focus to switch back to our club competitions in August & September. While the club singles draws have been made, its now time for the doubles.

Mens, Ladies & Mixed Doubles

• entry by Friday 5th August. To enter please email James @ jimmytennis@btinternet.com if you would like to enter the mixed and / or men’s / ladies doubles events (as always, all members are encourage to participate)
• Format for ladies/men’s doubles will be a round-robin format with group matches played throughout August and early September. Group matches will be best of 3 sets (with final set being a tie-break). Format for the semi-finals and final to be decided.
• Players can pick their partners. Semi-finals and final to be played on Sunday 18th September starting at 12.30.
• If you do not have a partner but would like to play in the men’s or ladies singles, then James will act as match maker – numbers allowing.
• Format for mixed doubles- partners will be picked out of a hat on the day. First team players will not be drawn with first team players. It will be seeded. The mixed event will be played on one day on Sunday 11th September starting at 11am

Henry Green – American Tournament (postponed to Oct – please continue to sign up)

The annual Henry Green Tournament will be played on Monday the 29th of August (late summer bank holiday). To enter please email jimmytennis@btinternet.com

The draw for the Club Singles was made this weekend at our Saturday Club Session Draw as follows, seeded players numbered and first round matches in brackets:

1st/2nd Round to be played by Sunday 28th August.
Quarter Finals to be played by Sunday 18th September.
Semi-Finals by 5th October
Finals on Sunday 9th October (times tbc)

Matches to be best of 3 sets (3rd set is tie-break to 10 points). Normal Deuce to be played in all games.

Old Club session balls can be used. New tubes of Head ATP can be purchased for £4 a can.
